Who would have guessed that my second to last (for the time-being) newborn would have been a ‘first’?? He was my first afternoon session, which led to him being my first newborn I photographed in the golden hour. His mama loves to take photos, too, so she mostly wanted a focus on sibling and family shots, and we took full advantage of the beautiful light for some of those!
This session reminded me that I need to place the ‘for the time-being’ next to my statements about not taking sessions anymore. I think I jumped the gun on removing all traces of session info from my blog and completely ridding myself of the business. Because maybe this break will lead to clarity and bring some helpful changes about in my lifestyle and also bring to light some necessary changes for my business to be a better fit for that lifestyle.
Anywho… we’ll see! And it may seem strange, but in that thought process I also accepted the fact that I was really not happy with the blog I’d switched to, and needed to move back to something clean, fresh, and simple. I think I found it in this blog design. It may seem like a silly thing to fret over, but I consider my blog as another room in my home. I want it decorated in a way that is comfortable and inviting to you (my guests!), reflective of my style, and uncluttered. And since the design is one that actually makes me feel happy, cozy and warm when looking at it (just as the decor in a room should make you feel when you walk into it) I knew it was right for me. And I hope you agree!
Now, back to this little man and his sweet family. Meet 11-day-old, Carsten …
Also … just because I’m taking a step away from booking sessions, I will not be far from newborn photography! I will be helping TA for a brand new workshop over on Clickin Moms, teaching everything you need and want to know about successfully photographing these teeny-tiny clients! You can check out info about that workshop HERE. Registration for the first run will be open tomorrow for members and non-members, so grab your seat quick! 🙂
I hope your weekend was great! xoxo
