These photos make me realize two things … first, it is almost Fall. Oktoberfest is a good reminder of that each year. Second, I do not do well taking photos when I’m surrounded by a bunch of people. I think living away from a lot of people has made me become a bit anxious when I’m around large groups and I felt that a great deal this year at Oktoberfest.
I really love people, but herding my family through a large crowd is a recipe for an anxiety attack. 
If I were by myself, it’d probably be a different story.
These are from Oktoberfest, in Mt. Angel … and you can tell by how many images I usually have, compared to what I have here, I was a bit distracted from taking photos.
And you know the crazy part? I went back the next day with the boys, my mom and my MIL, and it was 10 times as packed. Talk about anxiety. Good thing I have a whole year to recover, and prepare for Oktoberfest 2013!
Because I feel particularly adventurous when I’m with my mom AND my mother-in-law, we also went to the Oregon Garden that same day … and I’ll share them here too, because evidently I can’t handle a blog post with less than 67 photos …

It was a fun, energizing time being out and about around town … a nice change of pace from what we’re used to. But even my boys agree that being home is the best place to be.

I love seeing your outings and reading your blog. I totally hear ya on crowds. I dread the Puyallup fair for that same reason. Even though its so fun! Maybe we’re getting old haha.
Please don’t ever share below 67 photos… we are holding you to it now! That fair looked delicious. Mmmm, ice cream.. Anyway! We have a Mimi in my family too.. it’s my Mom! That must be the alternate Grandma name.

Oh, yes, it was crowded, but fun! It was especially nice that Myrna (Mimi) came with us to the Gardens and to Oktoberfest.
