This past weekend we got away, just the 5 of us. Well, not really just the 5 of us … we camped with hundreds of other people at a 3-D shoot in Packwood, Washington. But it was the first time we went away together without any other family. Can you believe that?? 7.5 years as a family and never once have we done this. Honestly, I was a bit nervous about it – like we were missing some of our layers of entertainment and care.
But turns out, we’re okay on our own and I feel like such a big kid now! 
We shot our bows till our arms couldn’t take it anymore and endured 102 degree temps. But the shade of the courses and the nearby river treated us really well, as did sleeping in a warm tent at night. And as I look through these images I miss this adventure already. It was totally perfect.

I love these so much!!! Joy just oozes out of them. :heart Okay, you have to tell me where you got these bows for the boys! We have 11 acres now, and Joey’s little plastic bow…well, we need an upgrade!

Great photos!! Looks like a wonderful way to spend a weekend! How fun to have an interest/sport activity you all enjoy as a family! LOVE the shots of the boys laying in the grass ala Lisa Lucky style. Wow, your kids hit the kill zone……looks like your little guys are becoming quite the marksmen!!
