Reading for fun … eventually …

I am excited for the day when Gage realizes all the fun that awaits him through reading.  He’s not very into it yet, and I’m not sure he realizes that when looking at his magazines, he CAN read the words. 

Eventually, I know he’ll realize reading can be fun.  He might be in second grade when he does (like his mom was) … or he might be a grown man (like his dad was).

But as excited as I am for him to enjoy the adventures of reading, I’ll hold on to the ‘little boy’ phase of liking to look at pictures and having his mama read to him.   There is simply no rush to grow up too fast.
