The other day, just before the thunderstorm started, I asked Gage to “stand right here” so I could test out the sharpness of this lens (yes, the 135
). He’s my only child that seems capable of standing still when I need him to, and he gladly ran over to help me out.

Then I said, “Hey Coop! Come take a picture with Doot!”.
He came too …

“Sweet, boys! Okay, now one that’s serious … ”

Then Doot says, “Hey Kadey Kade! Come take a picture with brothers! Come give Hum a hug!”
{FYI … Doot = Gage, Kadey Kade = Kaden, and Hum = Cooper}
Later when they’d gone to bed, I scrolled through these images in Lightroom and shook my head, saying “Why can I never just get one good one of them together?” Matt came over to the computer to see and as he looked at them, his face lit up, he laughed at each one and thoroughly enjoyed seeing his boys in these images.
He said, “Those are all good! They’re hilarious!”

When I showed the boys these photos the next day they got quite a kick out of themselves, too.
I’m so glad that I get to see my images … and life … through not only my eyes but theirs’ and Matt’s, too. Their perspective is often uplifting and humbling at the same time. ![]()

Goooooorgeous! I want to take a swim in that bokeh!
These are stunning Lacey. Amazing clarity, color and light. And your boys are the best.
lacey, these are great! The quality is reach and and grab ya! I feel as though I am standing right there! I love all C’s faces…he reminds me so much of one of my own….I too need to embrace the “not looking at me syndrome” that plaques all of my kids together pics. Thanks!
These ARE amazing Lacey! Such fun personalities! OOOO, the 135… how awesome! They make one for the D700? I might have to look into that…
Those are some precious boys. <3 Looks like the lens is a nice copy!!
Just look at that cooperative, sweet, seven-year-old Doot….looking at the camera in every shot! Then there’s goofy Coop, whose eyes can dart everywhere but at Mama’s camera. And I’m-in-my-own-world Tades, who will be “in” the photo if convinced it’s something he wants to do! I, too, love every photo…it’s just them!
XOXOXO to GCK from Grammie
oh Lacey…these are more than ‘good’… perfect is more like it. beautiful boys – the light is stunning and YAY for the new lens!!!
Your boys are SO cute!! Love all of these!! Yay for the 135!! It’s one of my favorite lenses…..just something special about it!
Thanks for de-lurking, Christine!
It is such a bonus when our kids LIKE the photos we take of them, isn’t it?!?
I’ve been lurking here for a while… but this post makes me de-lurk. I often feel the same way… why can I not get one single shot?! But then my little looks at them and exclaims “I so funny!” that I can’t bear to delete them!
And, mine are never this good… and these are gorgeous!
gorgeous! so crisp and clear.
