Whenever I need storage solutions, Ikea is usually my answer (Matt would say ‘wicker baskets’ would be my answer). As is donating to Goodwill and the garbage can.
G&C don’t like the latter option, so when I started noticing their room becoming more and more unorganized we compromised with a little bit of garbage can and a little bit of Ikea…
I threw out a lot of junk… broken toys, cardboard “toys” that they’d created, etc. and then invested in a new bookshelf for storage. This enabled us to clear off their table making way for a perfect spot for playing games and coloring.

And it just so happens to be in the nicest little spot for picture taking. ![]()

{Above … sometimes you just have to roll with what they give you}

This rearranging of their space has so far kept their room cleaner and has given Gage a place to display his Lego ‘art’.

This last image shows the exact reason that I was freaked out by our recent addition to their room, though, and pretty much until Dad bolted it to the wall I couldn’t breathe easy.
Fortunately, it was one of the first things Matt did when he got home. Now, I can rest easy that should Kaden decide to climb it in an effort to reach the treasured Legos on the upper shelves, it won’t topple over onto him.

Lovely!!!!
We struggle with the lego art issue too. It is stacked on dressers, I need some shelving!
Ikea comes through again. It looks like it was made for that corner.
XOXOXO to GCK from Grammie
I love your boys’ rooms. So cute. Yay for Ikea!
I honestly feel bad when I throw away the cardboard “toys” my girls make, but they just create stuff out the wazoo and it ends up everywhere! Love the little handful of pieces. And I’m wondering why we don’t have Hi Ho Cherry-O?!
Your home gets the best light!
