Five on Friday

1.  Are there better, more powerful words than just ‘Thank You’?  I wish there were … to say to all of your for your prayers and encouraging comments regarding Kaden.

I feel like I need to tell you 2 things … first, Kaden has a mouth full of teeth.  He even has his 2-year-molers already.  I would not give my child peanuts {or anything hard to chew for that matter} if he only had a few in there.  Just so you know. :)  And second, I had my camera with me at the hospital because I was heading up to Seattle to photograph my brand-new nephew.  And that was also the reason I had a bag of diapers, loads of snacks, and pj’s for all the boys to change into.  God is always guiding us, whether we know it or not. :)

Anyway, Kaden is still battling his infections and a fever, plus REALLY battling us when we try to give him his medications.  That boy is stubborn and he is strong, and I have had just about enough Augmentin spit into my face to last me awhile.  Thank goodness my mom is hear to help.

We’re all a bit whooped from the whole experience…

2.  Matt and I were supposed to fly out to Kentucky on Thursday for his sister’s wedding, but when Kaden’s temperature sat at 102 Wednesday evening we made the decision to stay home.

We prepared ourselves to find out that we’d only get flight credits for our tickets, but after waiting on hold with Travelocity for 20 minutes, the customer service agent informed me that because I had purchased the Trip Insurance, and  this was medically related, we’d have our money refunded.

My reaction?  “What trip insurance?”  I had NO clue that I’d purchased this … I wouldn’t have.  Another complete-God-thing (as if everything isn’t a God-thing … but this was totally obvious).

3.  Another totally-obvious-God-thing?  Matt is now completely down and out with the flu.  Of the worst kind.  Can you imagine him getting that sick en-route to Kentucky?

Thank you, Jesus, for making us stay home.  And please add Matt to your prayers for quick healing … xoxo …

4.  On a brighter note, we received Gage’s new homeschooling curriculum.  He wanted to dive right into the books but, being me, I told him I needed to sort through everything first. :)

I love that he got a little glimpse of what there is to look forward to, though. :)

5.  And, on an even brighter note, my 85mm 1.4 arrived via the Brown Van today, too.  It was supposed to be delivered on surgery day, but thanks  to bad weather elsewhere in the country, it was delayed!  Ironic?  Nope. ;)

The box remains unopened, though… I can’t open it until health and happiness is restored to our home.  I’m weird, I know.

So, here’s to a healthier, happier weekend!  Enjoy!

It’s always God :) . Hope things are starting to look a little brighter in your home and the recovery is well on it’s way. SO very sorry for all that you went through with little Kaden. What a wonderful doctor to catch that! I will most certainly continue to think and pray for you, Matt, and your babies :)

Oh! I hope Matt heals fast too! Prayers for you continued…;) And, I totally assumed he had a full set of teeth! Which is why I said that…it never occurred to me to worry about peanuts or carrots, or any other food like that once our toddlers had teeth, so your experience is an eye opening lesson to all of us mamas! Hang in there! God is looking out for you all. :heart
